    The traditional guesthouse of Marousio is located on the western entrance to the settlement Rodavgi, below the steep of Ksirovouni, at an altitude of 750 metres. Built with local stone, it is completely integrated to the natural environment. Stone and wood are predominant in the breakfast room, while the big fireplace and the lounge in the southern part create a beautiful spot for evety hour of the day.
     
    There are also many books and magazines about the region of Rodavgi, and Arta in general with information on the history, the customs and traditions of the area.
     
    However, the guesthouseΆs most important feature is the warm hospitality of its owners, Maria and Vasilis, who, always with a smile on their face, treat their guests to a glass of home made liquer from pomegranate or “krana”, or a traditional “tsipouro” (a traditional Greek spirit) from “zabela”, the rare local black garpes. Almost all the products are produced in the farm or made by the owners.
     
    A typical example is the the rich breakfast that includes homemade cakes, cookies and jams, pie or “trahana” (tiny sour dough balls soup or a type of frumenty), local honey, Gruyere and eggs from the farm.
     
    Maria Papavasileiou is always at the guestsΆ disposal to introduce her native land to them and to suggest the best ideas to walks, excursions or activities in the beautiful area of Tzoumerka.
     
    Grandma Marousio, after whom this beautiful guesthouse was named, would be proud of her grandchildren work because they  passionately try to keep alive the agricultural way of life, the home handcraft but mostly the areaΆs longstanding tradition of hospitality. The area: Rodavgi is a beautiful village with many sights, such as the church of Aghia Paraskevi with the wonderful woodcut iconostasis, the settlement of Pistiana, the area of Bistoura, etc. A walk to the “Besiko” fountain, which is surrounded by thick vegetation, is worth taking. The fountain took its name from the word of honour (“besa”) that the Turks and Greeks of the region gave each other that they would live peacefully.
     
    Suggested acitivities: Trekking in the magnificent valley of Arachthos and the bridge of Plaka .Excursion to Lake Pournari. Short 4X4 trips to the neighbouring villages and to the mountain routes of the area. Rafting and kayak in the river Arachthos.
     
    Mountain excursions to Tzoumerka and Ksirovouni. Excursion to the archaeological site of Orraon, an important settlement that the powerful tribe of Molossi, who came from Epirus, built in the 4th century BC.
